I think Poe was killed by "Rabies" instead of all the other diseases people had said he had. Because they mentioned he had "Rabies" twice in the stories. Then on the other diseases in only mentioned them once.
Then on this story they said things about where it happened, why, whom, what and how. It said alot of detail in the story. And I also like how the the people explained it.
It explained how people around him got "Rabies" too. Then the bats subtypes have been seen that they have "Rabies" also. The people found "Rabies" transmitted at the time.
The diagnosis is not always easy or straight forward. The incubation period in humans maybe as long as a year, if the inoculation is small and occurs on the hand or foot. The lack of evidence of a bit or scratch is not inconsistent with the diagnosis.
So that's why I think he died of "Rabies". Beacause alot of people also got very effected. Then also bats got it. So it could of been very dangerous around that time.
