The story of the Gift of the Magi was about a couple who was very poor. At first the started off only with one dollar and eighty-seven cents. They saved pennies, one by two at a time by bull dozing the grocer and the vegatable man. Della counted 3 times. One dollar and eighty-seven cents was whta she counted. The Dillingham had been flung to the breeze during a fromer period a fromer period of prosperity when its prossessor was being paid 3o dollars per week. Della had been crying. She also cryed becaude she only had one dollar and eighty-seven cents to buy Jim a present. Many happy hours she had with planning somthing for Jim.She wanted something fine and rare and sterling-something just a little bit near to being worthy of the honor of being owned by Jim. Then Della cut her hair. Then she knew it was worth 20 dollars. So she went around the stores loking for somthing valuable like a platinum fob chain. So a lady bought it off for 20 dollars and with that money she bought the chain. It was about the same amout. Della went home with a little bit of cash. She wrapped the gift. Then she gave it to Jim and he said nothing! Della asked wheres the watch? He responded, "I dont have it because i sold it to buy your combs!" THE END!!!
